With more than 25 years of aviation experience, Alex Marren leads and is responsible for all aspects of ABM’s global aviation business.
ABM Aviation’s 22,000 global team members deliver end-to-end service excellence in aircraft services, catering logistics, fueling services, janitorial, parking and transportation, passenger services, facilities maintenance, electrical and lighting, ground handling, and travel retail to airlines and 75+ airports across the U.S.,U.K., Ireland and the Middle East.
Alex has extensive experience leading large, complex and distributed operating organizations, including People Express, United and ExpressJet, with a strong track record of driving results with a focus on customer service, employee engagement, cost and quality.
She started her aviation career working in frontline roles in customer service; inflight and ramp operations at airports of all sizes domestically and internationally, including a startup in Greece; and ultimately led field and support teams across North America. In these roles she oversaw the catering and inflight division, grew partnerships with regional carriers, and led the operations center transformation during the merger of United and Continental.
Prior to joining ABM, Alex was the Executive Vice President of Rent-A-Car Operations in North America for Hertz Corp. Under her leadership, the team delivered a 22-point improvement in J.D. Power customer ratings, garnered multiple awards for service and loyalty programs, launched a new business model for customers, and realized millions in savings through process, technology and restructuring initiatives.
Throughout her career, Alex has been passionate about helping people succeed —helping frontline employees deliver great service to customers and managers develop professionally and personally, so the business grows profitably for the long term.
Alex is a graduate of Harvard University and Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, certificate program. She has served on the board of the Chicago and Atlanta Chapters of the American Red Cross. She is also an advisor for the organization Advancing Women’s Excellence in Supply Chain, Operations and Education.
Alex and her husband Patrick live in Atlanta, Ga., and enjoy traveling the world with their 24 nieces and nephews.
