Toni Presnell is a Civil Engineer with over 18 years of experience in the environmental area. She has an engineering degree from Purdue University as well as an MBA and Masters in Strategic Management from Indiana University. After graduating from college in 1991, Toni began her first career as a stay-at-home mom to four daughters.
Toni began her current career at HWC Engineering in Indiana. While consulting at HWC, she was the project manager responsible for design, permitting and construction of numerous water and wastewater projects and acted as the Town or City Engineer for many communities in Indiana and Illinois. Toni was the Program Manager for the City of Terre Haute’s Long Term Control Plan. The plan outlined the City’s path forward for minimizing raw sewage overflows from the combined sewer system into the Wabash River. She led a team of regulators, consultants, lawyers and City officials in creation ofthe plan that was ultimately approved by EPA.
Toni has worked in the power industry for the past 8 years for Hoosier Energy in Indiana and Oglethorpe Power in Georgia both as a plant engineer and leader of environmental compliance. She currently leads the Environmental Affairs group at Oglethorpe Power that is responsible for supporting environmental compliance at all of the company’s generation facilities. She also takes part in environmental policy development both at the state and federal level and is the Chair of the NRECA Environmental Policy Council. She currently sits on the Board of Rivers Alive in Georgia.
Toni enjoys leadership roles, mentoring young professionals (especially women) and helping her team excel. In her spare time, she likes to spend time with her husband, Matthew, play golf, read, exercise, spend time outdoors, and play video games.
